~Fall and Pinkeep Swap Packages~

Lori hosted an incredibly fun fall swap and I was lucky enough to participate!  My partner was Allison and she sent the most wonderful package.
Look at all the goodies packed in this box!!
I love these prim flowers that Allison made.  They have a wonderful "country store" scent.  That's what my daughter called it.
My favorite candy treat.  How did she know.
Yummy scented votives and a mug cozy, which I used today!!  Isn't it gorgeous!!
She sent along this great book and the kids love it.  I'm not sure if I could make these wonderful treats but it's worth a try.
These pumpkins are prim and great!!
She made this adorable pillow.
Great magazine and a Gooseberry Patch cookbook with yummy recipes!

Tina hosted a fun pinkeep swap.  This is the adorable pinkeep she sent me.  I love the colors, patterns and the design.  It's so fun.  She tucked in some yummy tea and flower seeds.

This is the pinkeep I sent Tina.  She loves yellow and blue so I decided to make her this little birdie pinkeep.  I tucked in some dishcloths that I had crocheted.

I forgot to take pictures of the package I sent to Allison.  I get so excited wrapping up the packages and don't remember to snap pictures until it's too late.  I hope she posts them on her blog.

These swaps were so much fun to participate in.  Opening up the mailbox and finding these surprises has been like Christmas.

~Swap Goodness~

sI have participated in a few swap lately and wanted to share with you all the treasures I've received and some I've sent.

I made a dozen or so of these pot holders for a  pot holder swap.

These are the wonderful pot holders I received.  Sorry the picture is sideways.  This happens to me occasionally when I upload pictures here. I have no idea why.  They are fine on the computer.

I received this great tote bag for a tote bag swap.  It is completely lined and I love the embroidery.  Again, sorry it is sideways.

I participated in the yarn and Christmas ornament swap that CT was having.  I received this great package from Dawn.  Her blog is filled with all her gorgeous crochet projects.   The yarn is from Debbie Bliss's Eco Fair Trade collection.  The crocheted angel ornament is great.  She also made a wonderful ornament out of vintage buttons.

This card she made is so cute.  In the package she also included  some Christmas napkins and coasters.  Isn't it all wonderful.
I forgot to take pictures of the yarn and ornaments I sent out.  CT posted some here.  I get so excited to send out the packages on time that I forget to take pictures before it is all wrapped up.

Favorite Things Swap & My Crochet

I joined the Favorite things swap that Connie was hosting.  My partner Laurie does not have a blog so I wanted to show you the package I sent her.
I sent her some shell buttons, a market bag I crocheted, a vintage bureau scarf, a piece of fabric with travel themes, and some Patons Bamboo and silk yarn.
I received an amazing package from Laurie.  I forgot to take a picture before I ripped into it.  Each item was wrapped in a beautiful pink rosebud paper.  Look at all these wonderful goodies she sent me.  I feel absolutely spoiled!!!
As much as I love other crafts my favorite by far is crochet.  I have started on another bag.  I made this with some leftover yarn.  It is a practice bag because I wasn't sure how it would come out but I am happy with it so far.  It is done in single crochet so it's quick and easy.  I am planning to line it and add some handles.
This is the bottom of the bag.  It came out great and I will be adding something sturdy to the bottom before I line it.
My sister in law is having a baby and I decided I would try to make my first baby sweater.  This pattern was very old and some of the directions were not easy to understand but I muddled through it and the end product is not too bad.  I was quite happy with it for the first sweater I have crocheted.  Somehow the first time I crocheted the sleeves they were huge and I had to redo them but otherwise it came out great.
Crochet is my favorite hobby and I love to try new patterns.  Next, I hope to try a tunic for me that I saw in a book recently.  Wish me luck.

The ac has been fixed.  It is another very hot day here and we are thankful it works.  It will be a better night to sleep with it on.  The man who came was very nice and he checked the fuses first, that's what I thought might be wrong, and that was it.  The total bill was $170 which was not bad.  I was so thankful.  Then that night our monitor decided to stop working.  It wouldn't do anything.  I had no idea what was wrong and hubby was not home.  The next day he worked on it and it came to life.  Thank you God for such a handy hubby.

Swaps and New Haircut

I have had so much fun participating in some great swaps lately.  It is so much fun to send out some treats in the mail and to receive some yourself.  Makes the mail a whole lot more fun than usual.

I received this great bamboo yarn from Gwen.  It was part of the Yarn and Chocolate Swap that Alessandra hosted.  How awesome~two of my favorite things~yarn and chocolate.
I received this wonderful package from a vintage swap I did with an online group I'm a part of.  My partner Florence really spoiled me.
Look at all these goodies!!
Love this vintage apron!!

Yummy tea and spearmint sugar.  Can't wait to try them.
Love this soap and shea butter lotion bar.  They are by my kitchen sink.  Citrus and basil scented.
I participated in the My Favorite Things Swap that Connie was hosting. I sent off a vintage bureau scarf, I love all things vintage, some shell buttons, a market bag I crocheted and some great bamboo and silk yarn to my partner Laurie.  She doesn't have a blog.  I hope she doesn't peek on these before she gets her package.  I also sent along a piece of fabric I found at the thrift store.  It has a Paris theme and she loves Paris things.
Here it is all wrapped up and ready to go.
This is my new haircut.  I can't take a good picture but I just love this cut.  It is very short in the back and so easy to take care of.
Not too good but a side view.
It has been fun sharing all my goodies with you.

Happy day!!

Cosy Crochet and Knitting Swap

I was thrilled to take part in the Cosy Crochet and Knitting Swap held by Melanie.  I love to crochet.  I can knit but know much more about crochet and was thrilled that my swap partner, Adrienne from Some of a Kind also crochets.

I was thrilled to receive my beautiful swap package last year.  How nice it is to receive these special little treats in the mail.  I ran inside to tear that package open.  I could hardly wait.
Isn't it so sweet!

Inside Adrienne had tucked many little goodies.
I absolutely love the market bag.  Every time I use it I will think of her.  The tea cozy is so wonderful.  I love the pattern and colors on the fabric.  What a great way to carry your tea with you.  She added some wonderful flower seeds~petunias and morning glories~two of my very favorites and a box of wonderful Tazo tea.

I feel a bit spoiled and am so thrilled to have made a new blogging friend through this swap.  I look forward to participating in more.

Visit Adrienne's blog to see pictures of what I sent her.  I was so excited to get the packages in the mail I forgot to take pictures but she posted it on her blog.

Blessings!
