Fall Time and Some Favorites

I just love fall it is one of my absolute favorite seasons. I just can't say it enough. Sunday we will be attending a Fall Festival in a nearby town. This has become a tradition for us, we usually attend with my sister in law and have a great time. I will try to remember my camera and take some pictures of all the fun we have. Unfortunately, I have one of the worse cameras and the pictures are not that great but it will have to do for now. I can't wait to get a new camera.

This is the pattern for the ponch my daughter chose. She is waiting patiently while I try to finish it. She chose different colors because she wanted it to match with everything.

Here is the first side completed and I am just starting on the second side. I will try to get it finished this weekend but I can't make any promises. She would love it if I could finish this weekend. I hope I can.

I recently borrowed the May issue of Country Living from the library. It is one of my favorite magazines. I just wanted to share some pictures that I just love from this issue. This would be my dream kitchen. Not modern but more old world and vintage. I absolutely love that stove and the chalkboard.

This is a fabulous dining room. I love all the light that is ocming in and the muted and natural colors. It is just perfect to me.

I just love the simple yet inviting touches that you see here. That is what I would love to do in our home.
Sorry for the poor picture quality. I need a new camera. I will add it to the Christmas wish list.
I also picked up a most awesome book on heirloom gardening. I have joined MJ Heirloom Mavens and with every little seed we will try to preserve these heirlooms. It is scary to think what the big companies are doing to our food supply. That will be a post for another day but it is definitely something to look into. One book I recommend to start with is Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingslover. It will be an eye opener. You will never look at grocery store items the same. It has really opened my eyes to what is happening to our food supply and what we can do to change that.

I love the colorful photos. It brings all the heirlooms to life. It is an amazing book with wonderful descriptions of heirlooms and information on where you can find heirloom seeds. I am enjoying it more than I can even explain.

I hope you all enjoy your weekend. Don't be shy, make sure you leave a comment and say hi!!!

Hi Ruth,
Thank you so much for stopping by my site. Yes those magazines I got at a garage sale this week from the 1940s are so much fun to look at. They are so much bigger then the magazines of today. A lot of them used to be big like that, look, life, McCall's, ladies home journal. Anyway I picked up about five of the Ladies home companion ones. They were only a quarter each.

Ruth, I feel like a complete idiot! I skimmed through your blog posts and assumed that the sheep were yours.

I wish I had property and animals. I'd totally get some little lambies! I was telling my sister the other day that homesteading is in the heart.

God bless!
