Yummy Yarn

My dear son has an art class each Tuesday afternoon.  While he is enjoying his class I usually go explore the local neighborhood.  The art class is an a little old town not too far from us.  It is one of my favorites.  The streets are filled with all kinds of little shops that I enjoy visiting.  There are quite a few consignment shops located on one main road that runs through that town and a couple of other towns.  One day while looking for some thrift stores I saw this great little yarn shop-Unwind.  I pulled right in and was automatically in love with this little yarn shop.  They have so many wonderful yarns.  It was hard to choose.  The walls are lined with cubbies filled with the softest, warmest and silkiest yarns I have ever felt.

I had been wanting to crochet a neck warmer.  I came upon this incredibly soft and chunky yarn. It is Misti Alpaca 100% percent baby alpaca.  I had to have it.

It is such a pleasure to work with.  Although I can't wait for the neck warmer to be completed so I can use it, I hate to see this yarn finish.  It is so fabulous.

While I was there the clerk showed me a closet with clearance yarn.  I couldn't get any happier.  This fabulous yarn was 75% off.  It was originally $10 a skein.  It was a steal and I couldn't pass it up.  The only rule was that I had to buy all 5 skeins~I was ok with that.  Now I need to find the perfect project to use it.
My name is Ruth and I'm a yarnaholic.  No I can't show you my stash~Ok, maybe just a peek some other time.

New Additions to the Family

We have been busy here as we put things in order for my brother in law's puppies to come live with us.  Things have to be worked out still.  We will need the yard to be completely fenced-they like to run away- and we will be purchasing a large shed-10 ft x 16 ft to be their home.  Unfortunately, we have to wait until some things are worked out so we can do the necessary work to make this their home.  We have a little beagle who is fearful of all other dogs.  Our home is also small and we don't think we would have room to have them here with us.  They will be right outside our door in their own very stylish little home.  For now they are living where they were and my sister in law is caring for them.
Meet Petie-he has my brother in law's name and his demeanor.  He is fun-loving and a bit rambunctious.  He is the brawn behind the escape plans.  He is also huge!!  He stands as tall as my husband.  His paws are almost the size of my hand.

Meet Skylar-She is a true lady.  She has a gorgeous coat and beautiful blue eyes.  She will melt your heart.  She is Petie's mom and the mastermind behind all escape plans.  She has a sweet temperament.

This is our baby beagle.  She is about the same age as Skylar.  She does not enjoy other dog's company.  She is a people dog.  Loves all the attention she can get.

Here is the little home we are having built for the huskies.  It is so cute.  We hope they will be happy here with us.  The kids are just waiting to have them here and love on them.  They were my brother in law's babies and will help us feel a part of him with us here.

Sorry for the poor quality.  It's a picture from the pamphlet.

Once the huskies are all moved in and settled I will be able to update on their progress.  I am sure we will have some fun and interesting stories to share.

**  I have been having trouble with blogger and was wondering if anyone else has.  I can't post comments on certain blogs.  If you have your post and then comments with a comment box below I only get a blank space and cannot leave a comment.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I don't know if it's my computer or blogger trouble.  I would appreciate anyone's help.  Thank you**

In Our Hearts~

Thank you all for your very sweet comments and prayers.  This has truly been a very difficult time for our family.  You can't ever comprehend why someone is taken from your life like that.  This accident has left us with many unanswered questions and it only seems to intensify the pain.  We are working through it day by day.  My brother in law was not married and he was very close to us.  He was very involved in our kid's lives and we miss him more than any words could say.  He was a man's man but would leave his friends to come here and take our daughter shopping at the mall.  He was always here for us.  A fun loving, life to the fullest guy.  He worked hard, had fun and always made time for us.  This was my husband's only brother and he is feeling the loss immensely.  There has been a lot of responsibility heaped on my husband as we try to settle things.  I would appreciate all your prayers as we continue on this journey.  We will be bringing his two huskies to live with us.  There is some work that needs to be done in the yard before that can happen.  So many things that are left to be done.

Your continued prayers and support are extremely appreciated.  We need more than ever to feel God's love and His arms of comfort around us.  I know that He works all things for good.  Though we have pain and many unanswered questions I know He is in control.  I cannot see the future but He holds it in His hand.
