Roadside Bench Transformation

One of our neighbors was moving and this bench was in her garbage pile.  I just couldn't resist and I snagged it.  I've had it for quite a while and never got around to painting it.  Today was the day.  It was an eyesore and needed help.

Such a sad shape to be in
I took time to clean it up and scrape away all that paint.  Gave it good sanding and made sure to wipe away all the debris.  A quick trip to Lowes and I found Valspar Spray Paint in Sea Glass.  Loved it immediately and knew this was the right color.  Here is the after:
Isn't it a beauty~It took about five coats.  I used less than two cans.  I am thrilled with how it looks.
This little roadside find only cost me $8 for the spray paint to make it lovely.  I love roadside finds.  I don't usually get lucky enough to find one.  This time I sure did.

Now I will surround it with pretty flower pots. It is just darling.

  1. I had the opportunity to get a bench just like this out of a dumpster a couple of weeks ago. My friend's son had thrown it away. Had I gotten to it BEFORE it went in the dumpster, OR had it not been the day my car broke down, I probably would have gladly taken it. I'd love to have one in my yard.
    great job! Love the color!
