Spring Touches

Spring~where has it gone.
It is quite elusive, here one day,
 touching us with warm sunshine,
promising to stay but in the next moment it is gone.

Last night, it snowed here.  The same happened last week.  Not a lot of snow but enough to let us know that winter will not go away quietly.  The calendar may say spring but winter is holding on here in the Northeast.  Today we have a cold, rainy day with temps only in the mid 30's but I am warming up our home with spring touches.
Cherry blossoms in my favorite bottle from Ikea.  I have also taken the bamboo plant that is in the background, out of it's container and put it into a small milk bottle I purchased at an antique store.  It looks so cute.  I will have to take a picture of it next.
 Flower covered eggs~so pretty
Kids working on homeschool work in the background
Love this cloche~I need to stage better photos (messy couch behind, glass table top showing the remote underneath, ugh!).
Spring Apothecary jars with moss, eggs and sea glass.
Found this blue canning jar, finally, on our recent trip to the antique store.  Have to have some spring chocolates, too. All the doilies I use are made by my mom and my grandmother, who passed away.  My mom still loves to make them and always has about three or four projects going at once.
Colored Modge Podge book paper eggs with baby blue eggs to brighten my tureen.
Spring Hutch~the keys are also recent finds from our antique store trip and the mercury glass votives are from Anthropologie.

I hope you are enjoying better spring weather where you are.

  3. We've had snow, too, Ruth. Flurries yesterday. It does look like you were able to bring Spring inside though! Love your eggs and nests. They just say Spring no matter what is outside the window.

    Visiting from Tatertots and Jello.

  4. You are so right at Winter doesn't quite want to let go of us, here in the Northeast. But, the touches of Spring in your house have to lighten the mood. Everything looks so fresh and bright.

  5. Hi Ruth,

I love the cherry blossoms and the decoupaged eggs. I bought a bag of plastic eggs because I always want to do that and then forget to buy them during Easter...and I still haven't done any..ha ha

  6. What a beautiful blog ....You would never know that you had snow out your window by looking at your wonderful pictures .... It looks as if you have a true passion for your home and family ....That is what GOD wants from us ....If you are ever looking for TRUTH and peace of mind stop by my site ....It is becoming more difficult to speak GODS TRUTH without being chastised yet on the other hand we must be careful that we do not start judging our brothers and sisters at the same time 1 Corinthians 3 and 1 Corinthians 13 must be used together at all times ....Such a difficult thing to do during most of our life if we do not know the LIVING JESUS ....Take care and have a most blessed day !
