Looking Forward to Spring!!

The days have been so busy here.  My ds has started on art class on Tuesday.  He loves art.  He could spend his whole day drawing.  This class will be great for him but it has added another thing to our schedule.  We have art on Tuesdays, gym class on Wednesday and Thursday we are out all day for coop classes and Bible Bee classes.

As the spring arrives some of these classes will end.  I am thrilled because I really want to be home and get more things accomplished.  Next week will be our last gym class.  On April 9 we have our last coop class.  This will give us plenty of time to work on school work and be done by the middle of May.  I look forward to these days of slowing down and being home.

I have ordered all my seeds from Seed Savers.  They have all arrived and I can't wait to get busy.  Right now I am reading The New Seed Starters Handbook by Nancy Bubel.

I am just drinking in all the wonderful information she shares in the book.  This is my first year growing anything from seed and these are heirloom seeds.  I don't want to lose any, although I am sure some will not make it.

Every part of me is anxious for spring to come after this very long, cold and snowy winter.  Waiting to fill our greenhouse with an abundance of plants that will grow in our garden.

What are your plans for spring?

Goings On~

Hello! friends~

It has been busy around here. This week we are taking a break from school work. Yeah!! I have been working on some much needed projects.

Yesterday, I cleaned out our basement and filled our van with things to pass on to our local thrift store. We have an 8 passenger mini-van and when I was done loading it all in there was only room for three of us to ride in it. I already have two more bags packed and ready to go. I have had such a great time uncluttering. What a relief it is. I don't know why I was hanging on to so much stuff.

I made this little banner for my secret farmgirl pal at MaryJanes Farm. I hope she enjoyed it. I crocheted an edging on felt hearts and added some vintage pics to them along with some buttons. I just love buttons.

This is a tea cozy I made for a tea cozy swap at MaryJanes Farm. I am having so much fun making all these different things for the swaps. I hope my partner enjoys it. Now I need some ideas for little tea extras to send along with it. Do you have any you would like to share.

I really enjoy making all these things and I never had anyone who enjoyed receiving them. Now I am delighted to have met a group of women who love the same things I do. I have so much fun making these little gifts to send. I hope they are enjoying them, too.

I received this wonderful apron last week from my secret farmgirl pal. I love the black/pink color combo. It is such a cute apron. I love to wear it.

Thank you, Marcy!!!!!!! You were an awesome secret pal. I enjoyed all your little treats and cards.

New Cut!!

I don't have alot of time to post but I wanted to share some pics of the new haircut. My hair was getting too long. It was always getting tangled so I decided it was time for a new look.

My daughter and I went on Tuesday and 2 1/2 hours later it was all cut off.

Not the best of pictures but it is quite short.

This is the side view. It's very layered. I am quite happy with how it came out.

Look in 2008's posts to see just how long my hair was. That was a few months ago and I hadn't gotten cut since. No wonder it took so long to cut it all off.

I will post more later. I have some other things to share. No time now the kids have their coop classes.

And the winner is....

Thank you to all who left a comment for my giveaway. This morning while we are doing school I wrote all the names on a piece of paper, scrambled them all up and put them in a bowl.

Here they all are just waiting for someone to pick one.

I had my son pick a name without even peaking.

See how busy he is working.

And the winner is:

Jess from Hectic Household!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, Jess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, this picture had to go sideways on me. Don't forget to tilt your head to the right to read the winner. LOL

I will mail these out to you tomorrow morning, sweet Jess~

I hope you enjoy them.

Finished Minis~Owl hats~Valenitine's GIVEAWAY

I was rather nervous about joining the mini apron swap on Mary Janes Farm. I had never made any before and have not been sewing for long. I just love the adorable level of these so I decided to give it a try. I am so excited to receive the other minis. I am sure that I will learn a few things just by looking at all the details on the others.

Alas, I did complete them. I was fairly happy with how they came out. I just hope they are worthy of the others in the swap. I did make a few errors along the way and had to throw those out.

These are the completed ones.

I have sent out many owl hat orders. If you would like to see some of the cutest kiddos sporting their owl hats check out Jess's blog.
